A partner and trusted advisor in our Banking & Financial Services Group, Jeffrey has built a busy lending practice where he acts on behalf of banks and other lenders in bilateral and syndicated loan transactions.
With more than four decades in practice, Jeffrey is a highly respected lawyer for these types of lending transactions. His versatility enables him to act on behalf of institutional and private lenders, as well as for a range of borrowers, in commercial loan transactions secured by real estate and personal property. Jeffrey is also recognized for his expertise in advising clients on asset-based lending and receivables purchase financing (factoring).
As part of his commitment to client service excellence, Jeffrey invests substantial time in getting to know his clients so he can help them to achieve their objectives. Keeping his clients’ best interests top of mind, Jeffrey approaches all his interactions with his clients and with counsel on the other side of transactions collaboratively and amicably, which optimizes the conditions to close deals effectively and with success.
Dedicated to the business and legal communities, Jeffrey was a director and officer of the Canadian Business Law Journal for more than 30 years. He has published many articles on business law topics, including factoring and the Personal Property Security Act. He is a sought-after speaker, who has owned the podium as an expert on commercial and real estate lending at client seminars and on asset-based lending at factoring conferences.
