Sahaab Bajwa

An articling student at Torkin Manes, Sahaab earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. Throughout his time at law school, Sahaab sought different opportunities each year to gain legal experience in areas related to his numerous interests, including corporate law, finance, biology, not-for-profit work, and technology and innovation.

In his first year of law school, Sahaab volunteered his time to the Association for Media Literacy, where he analyzed and identified potential privacy and legal concerns in company user agreements and wrote informative pieces in easy-to-understand language to educate the public on these concerns. Sahaab also took part in the school’s venture capital law society.

In his second year of law school, Sahaab was a volunteer for the Future of Law Lab at the University of Toronto, where he worked with a team to research and write a report identifying the emerging uses of gamification. Sahaab ultimately presented his team’s findings to CFA Societies Canada. Additionally, Sahaab was a co-chair for the University of Toronto chapter of Animal Justice.

In his final year of law school, Sahaab was selected for a mergers and acquisitions externship at a well-known downtown Toronto law firm, gaining hands-on experience working with M&A lawyers to resolve complex litigation issues. Sahaab also volunteered for the International Human Rights Program, providing up-to-date statements of the law on rights relating to international health issues such as COVID-19.

Prior to joining Torkin Manes, Sahaab worked in-house at the University of Toronto’s medical school and the Royal Bank of Canada, where he obtained a deep understanding for each client’s unique business needs and how those needs related to legal issues.
