Torkin Manes Honours Raagavi Ramenthiran with the WLAO Torkin Manes Trailblazer Award
Overview
On May 7, 2026, at a gala in downtown Toronto, our Director of Talent & Recruitment, Lindsay Kantor, on behalf of Torkin Manes LLP, was proud to present Raagavi Ramenthiran with the 2026 WLAO Torkin Manes Trailblazer Award. Presented annually, the award recognizes a female student who demonstrates exceptional achievement in both business and law. Through her entrepreneurial mindset, academic accomplishments, and commitment to leadership and community impact, Raagavi exemplifies the qualities this award was established to honour.
Currently completing the joint JD/MBA program at Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business, Raagavi has consistently demonstrated an ability to combine legal insight with strong business judgment and initiative. Prior to law school, she became a licensed real estate agent while completing her undergraduate studies full-time and earned Rookie of the Year as the highest-performing new agent at a brokerage of more than 700 agents.
Throughout law school, Raagavi has pursued opportunities that reflect her passion for advocacy, entrepreneurship, and service. Through her work with the Osgoode Investor Protection Clinic, she provided pro bono support to vulnerable Canadians who suffered investment losses and contributed to research and reform proposals to the Ontario Securities Commission. She also supported creators and entrepreneurs through the Artists’ Legal Advice Services Clinic, assisting with contracts, intellectual property, and early-stage business matters.
Raagavi has also demonstrated exceptional leadership within the law school community as Co-President of the JD/MBA Students’ Association and President of the Osgoode Women’s Network, leading initiatives that support mentorship, professional development, and opportunities for women in law and business.
For many years, Torkin Manes LLP has been a proud sponsor of the Women’s Law Association of Ontario, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing issues and causes relevant to women in the legal profession.
Congratulations to Raagavi and all other 2026 award recipients on their outstanding achievements!
