Raza Akbari

An articling student at Torkin Manes, Raza graduated from the Western University Faculty of Law. Upon graduation, he received the Insolvency Institute of Canada Prize for his performance in Advanced Restructuring and Insolvency. He also received the Ailbe C. Flynn '97 LLB Memorial Award for achieving the highest academic standing in the Intellectual Property, Information & Technology Area of Concentration.

At Western Law, Raza volunteered as a Managing Editor for the Canada-US Law Journal. During his 1L summer and throughout law school, he held multiple research assistant positions in competition law, contract law doctrine, and financial payments regulation.

Prior to joining Torkin Manes as an articling student, Raza spent his 2L summer at the Trading and Markets Division of the Ontario Securities Commission.
