Lisa R. Lifshitz to speak at the ABA Business Law Section Spring Meeting

ABA Business Law Section Spring Meeting

Lisa R. Lifshitz, Partner and Chair of our Technology and Privacy & Data Management Groups, will be speaking on the “A Global Look at Privacy and Security Considerations in Data Offshoring” panel at the upcoming 2025 ABA Business Law Section Spring Meeting on April 25, 2025 in New Orleans, LA.

Data offshoring is an attractive cost-cutting measure, but it is not without risk. The panel will address key considerations and best practices for companies when offshoring their data in light of (1) their obligations to protect their customers’ data and their interests in protecting their own IP, as well as (2) U.S. laws (including the CLOUD Act) and other geopolitical and policy considerations on foreign storage and access.
